The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K is one of Chicago’s best running celebrations, with a one-of-a-kind course! The Chicago tradition continues the St. Patrick’s Day celebration and kicks off the spring running season in Chicago. The unique 8K (4.97 miles) course weaves its way through downtown Chicago, starting and finishing in Grant Park.
- Aid Station 1: Mile 1.6
(State Street and Randolph Street)
- Aid Station 2: Mile 3.6
(Harrison Street and Wells Street)
Runners must maintain a 15-minute per mile pace and complete the full 8K (4.97 miles) distance—start line to finish line—within the event time requirement of 1 hour and 15 minutes (h:mm:ss/1:15:59). Runners who finish outside of the time requirement may not be recorded as official finishers and may not receive full on-course support from aid stations and traffic safety personnel.
Clocks and mile markers will be located at every mile. Timing mats will be at the start line, 5K (3.1 miles) and at the finish line.
The morning and afternoon of the event, the streets that comprise the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K course, as well as the start/finish area in Grant Park, will be closed to vehicular traffic. Click here for 2016 street closure information.
