DELOITTE ELITE CLUB COMPETITION

The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle will host its annual Deloitte Elite Club 8K Competition for USATF-member racing teams. The event attracts the top local, regional, and national club teams to the flat and fast streets of Chicago to compete for a $30,000 prize purse.


DIVISIONS AND SCORING

Teams will compete in three championship divisions: men’s, women’s, and mixed.

Men’s division

Teams must enter a minimum of four (4) men per team and can enter a maximum of six (6) men per team. The top four (4) finishers will count toward team scoring. The teams with the lowest combined finish time among their scoring runners will be declared the winners.

Women’s division

Teams must enter a minimum of four (4) women per team and can enter a maximum of six (6) women per team. The top four (4) finishers will count toward team scoring. The teams with the lowest combined finish time among their scoring runners will be declared the winners.

Mixed division

Teams must enter a minimum of two (2) women and one (1) man per team.  The remaining team members, up to a maximum of six (6), may be of any gender (men, women, non-binary, or gender not specified). The top two (2) women and two (2) next top finishers, regardless of gender, will count toward team scoring. The teams with the lowest combined finish time among their scoring runners will be declared the winners.

The gender of a participant in the Deloitte Elite Club Competition will align with the gender indicated at the individual’s point of registration.  No adjustments to gender will be made post-registration for the purposes of team scoring.

Clock time (gun time) will be the official recorded time for all Elite Club Competition runners. Clubs may enter a maximum of three (3) women’s teams, three (3) men’s teams, and three (3) mixed teams.


AWARDS AND PRIZE MONEY

Event awards will be presented to the overall team champions in each division.

Prize money* will be awarded to the top five (5) teams in each division as follows:

Men’s/women’s/mixed teams

1st $3,000
2nd $2,500
3rd $2,000
4th $1,500
5th $1,000

*Prize money will be paid to the club/organization.


QUALIFICATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY

The Deloitte Elite Club 8K Competition follows USATF Competition Rules. All participating clubs must be current member clubs with USATF as listed on the USATF club directory, and all athletes entering as part of a club must train and race with the club on a regular basis. For questions regarding USATF membership or to purchase/renew a club membership, please visit usatf.org or contact your local USATF association.

To qualify for the Deloitte Elite Club Competition division, men must be capable of running a 5:15/mile pace and women must be capable of running a 6:15/mile pace (or faster).  Team members must have met these standards at an event of no less than 5K completed on or after January 1, 2025.

If a club or individual does not meet the qualifications for the Deloitte Elite Club Competition, they can participate individually or as part of the Deloitte Open Team Competition. Only teams in the Deloitte Elite Club Competition will be eligible for prize money, race day amenities, and a registration deadline of Friday, March 6, 2026.

All members of a team in the Deloitte Elite Club Competition must qualify for and be assigned to the Elite start corral.  Participants not assigned to the Elite start corral are ineligible for participation on a team in the Deloitte Elite Club Competition.


REGISTRATION

Interested teams may complete the Registration Information Form. Upon approval of the submission, the team captain will receive access to a registration portal to manage the team’s event registration. The Registration Information Form must be submitted by 5 p.m. CST, Friday, February 20, 2026.

Each team is required to pay a $25 registration fee per participant. Clubs may enter a maximum of three (3) women’s teams, three (3) men’s teams, and three (3) mixed teams.

Elite club members have a registration deadline of 5 p.m. CST, Friday, March 6, 2026. Entries for the Deloitte Elite Club Competition will not be accepted after this date.

Once all team members have registered for the event, teams must be created and managed online by the team captain.  Teams must be finalized by 5 p.m. CST, Friday, March 13, 2026. No edits to the team will be accepted after this date.


ADDITIONAL DELOITTE ELITE CLUB COMPETITION AMENITIES

On race day, all Deloitte Elite Club Competition runners will be assigned to the Elite Start Corral and will have access to a secure tented area near the start/finish areas with secure gear check, restroom facilities and beverages.

The first place team in each division from the previous year will receive hotel accommodations. Should one or more of the first place teams not be participating, the offer of hotel accommodations shall be extended to the next highest placing team in the category.
